Performance Measurement:
Theory and Practice
Welcome
The University of Otago’s School of Business is pleased and honoured to host the 2009 Performance Measurement Association Conference. The University’s international reputation for leadership in teaching and research, together with its strong linkages to the New Zealand business community makes Otago an ideal host.
An enduring purpose of the PMA conference is to facilitate a dialogue in the field of performance management, providing a rare opportunity for academics and practitioners to meet and exchange ideas. The highly successful PMA series of conferences have been running since 1998. This time we are fortunate to feature three world-class keynote speakers: Professor Robert Chenhall of Monash University, Australia: Professor Ken Merchant of the University of Southern California, USA; and Professor Andy Neely from Cranfield School of Management, UK.
The University of Otago serves as the venue for the 2009 PMA Conference. Located in the city of Dunedin, New Zealand, Otago is New Zealand’s first university (being established in 1869). Otago has been and continues to be a pacesetter in New Zealand business education. In 1912, for example, it began offering business education and in 1976 it pioneered New Zealand’s first full-time MBA programme (the only New Zealand programme to be internationally ranked by the Financial Times and Economist Intelligence Unit as well as other leading authorities on world-class MBAs).
We thank you for attending the PMA Conference and allowing us, the School of Business to be the host. Hopefully this conference has been a meaningful and memorable experience.
